Delivery and Innovation: Combination or Contradiction?
A Conversation with Sir Michael Barber and Charlie Leadbeater
NESTA is pleased to invite you to a breakfast with Michael Barber, author of the widely acclaimed book ‘Instruction to Deliver’ which will be published on May 29th.
As innovation in the delivery of public services is the subject of an important national debate, Michael, who set up and ran the Prime Minister’s Delivery Unit from 2001 until 2005, will consider the challenges of improving public services. The establishment of the Delivery Unit was described by Tony Blair as the most successful change he made to the machinery of government. Its task was to drive progress on specific targets such as reducing hospital waiting times, cutting crime and improving school exam results.
Charlie Leadbeater, NESTA's Visiting Senior Fellow and leading authority on innovation and creativity will deliver a critique on the book and Jonathan Kestenbaum, NESTA’s Chief Executive will facilitate a discussion. This event is by invitation only and spaces are limited.
Refreshments from 8.00am Presentations start at 8.30am and will conclude at 9.45am
